Rajganj, 09 April (Siliguri Chronicle) – A rare moment of political courtesy was seen during election campaigning in Rajganj, as Trinamool Congress candidate Swapna Barman shared a warm interaction with a BJP panchayat member, offering a glimpse of camaraderie amid the poll season.
On Thursday, while campaigning in the Rajganj Assembly constituency, Barman met BJP panchayat member Babita Mondal. Despite belonging to rival parties, the two greeted each other warmly and embraced, creating a cordial atmosphere on the campaign trail.
As part of her ongoing outreach, Barman visited several gram panchayat areas across the constituency. During her visit to the Selterbari area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, she interacted with residents, listened to their concerns, and discussed local issues along with party workers and supporters.
It was during this visit that she met Mondal. Their friendly exchange and mutual respect stood out at a time when political tensions often run high during elections.
Political observers said such gestures of civility and respect reflect the positive spirit of democracy, even in the midst of intense electoral competition.
