Poster Vandalism Sparks Tension in Naxalbari, Four Held by Police

Naxalbari, 09 April (Siliguri Chronicle) – Tension gripped Naxalbari after allegations of poster vandalism triggered clashes between supporters of the Trinamool Congress and the BJP. Four people were arrested in connection with the incident.

According to sources, BJP workers were accused of tearing down Trinamool Congress posters in the Roypara area. The situation quickly escalated, leading to a scuffle between supporters of both parties and creating unrest in the locality.

Police and central forces later carried out a joint night operation to restore normalcy and bring the situation under control.

Two BJP workers and two Trinamool Congress workers were arrested. The accused have been identified as Dipta Roy and Sagar Roy from the BJP, and Bashistha Prasad and Santu Roy from the Trinamool Congress.

All four will be produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. Police have registered cases under multiple sections, and further investigation is underway.
