Siliguri, 25 May (Siliguri Chronicle) – A Trinamool Congress party office located in Kawakhali on the outskirts of Siliguri was demolished after allegations surfaced that the structure had been illegally built on land owned by the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA).

Sources said the office was allegedly constructed by workers of the TMC’s Matigara block unit without obtaining the required permission from the authorities. Reports suggest the matter drew administrative attention amid recent political developments in the state.

Following this, the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority reportedly served a notice to the concerned party unit, instructing that the structure be removed within seven days.

After receiving the notice, local Trinamool Congress workers themselves demolished the party office. However, party leaders refrained from making any public comments before the media regarding the development.
