Siliguri, 25 May (Siliguri Chronicle) – A programme centred on ‘Vande Mataram’ was organised at the North Bengal University campus under the initiative of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), drawing participation from students, faculty members and university officials.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across the campus and featured cultural performances along with the collective rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’.
Among those present at the programme were University Acting Registrar Dr. Bhaskar Biswas, Additional Registrar Dr. Swapan Rakhit, Dr. Nikhilesh Roy, Dr. Ardhendu Mandal, besides several faculty members, researchers and scholars.
Representatives of ABVP said the initiative was aimed at spreading awareness about the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ in India’s freedom movement and encouraging patriotic values among students.
University officials described the programme as a positive step and stressed the need for cultural and national awareness activities within educational institutions.
