Jalpaiguri, 23 April (Siliguri Chronicle) – A humane gesture was witnessed at Booth No. 17/107 of a government girls’ school in Jalpaiguri, where a personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces helped an ailing voter reach the polling station on a wheelchair.

The voter, Sudhin Bhowmik, a resident of Ward No. 8 in Jalpaiguri town, was unable to walk to the booth due to health issues.

Ensuring that he could cast his vote, the security personnel promptly arranged a wheelchair and personally escorted him to the polling booth.

The act drew appreciation from those present, with the voter expressing gratitude for the support he received. The incident highlighted a compassionate side of election duty amid the ongoing polling process.
