ABVP Moves Police Over Alleged Clash During Admission Help Desk Dispute at Siliguri College

ABVP alleged its members were attacked during a dispute over an admission help desk at Siliguri College and demanded strict police action.

Siliguri, 26 May (Siliguri Chronicle) – Tension reportedly erupted at Siliguri College on Monday over the setting up of a help desk for the ongoing admission process, triggering controversy on the campus.

Following the incident, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to Siliguri Police Station, alleging that its members were attacked by activists of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) during the dispute.

Condemning the incident, ABVP demanded strict action against those responsible. The student organisation urged the authorities to conduct a fair and speedy investigation, identify the accused, and initiate appropriate legal proceedings.

ABVP also called for adequate security for students and its members within the college premises. In addition, the organisation demanded steps to prevent similar incidents of political violence in and around educational institutions in the future.
