Tanker Overturns on Siliguri–Jalpaiguri Highway, Sparks Panic in Surrounding Areas

Fulbari, November 30 (Siliguri Chronicle) – A petrol tanker overturned on the Siliguri–Jalpaiguri National Highway near Jiaganj in Fulbari on Sunday morning after the driver reportedly lost control.

The vehicle skidded off the road and toppled into a roadside ditch, sparking panic among local residents.

Police from the New Jalpaiguri station arrived quickly, as the tanker was carrying a large volume of petrol and posed a potential fire hazard. Two fire engines from Fulbari were also sent to secure the area.

The driver suffered minor injuries, and a stretch of the highway was briefly congested. Police are now working to pull the tanker out of the ditch and restore normal traffic.
