Siliguri, 27 May (Siliguri Chronicle) – Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb on Wednesday visited the residence of TMCP student leader Vivek Jha, who was seriously injured during a clash at Siliguri College earlier this week.

The incident took place on Monday morning following a confrontation between members of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) and ABVP over the setting up of an admission help desk on the college campus.

According to reports, the dispute began with a verbal argument between the two student organisations regarding the arrangement of the help desk for the admission process. The situation later turned violent, leading to a physical clash inside the college premises.

TMCP student leader Vivek Jha suffered serious injuries in the incident and is currently recovering at his residence.
