Rajganj, 03 June (Siliguri Chronicle) – The distribution of financial assistance under the Annapurna Yojana was formally launched from Nabanna on Wednesday through a virtual programme aimed at strengthening the economic empowerment of women across West Bengal.
Under the state-wide initiative, financial assistance was directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 28 lakh women beneficiaries.
To mark the launch, the Rajganj Block Administration organised a programme at the BDO office, where around 100 beneficiaries were handed approval letters under the scheme.
Officials said the Annapurna Yojana seeks to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women, helping improve household financial stability and encouraging greater self-reliance.
The programme was attended by Rajganj BDO Sourabh Kanti Mandal, Rajganj Police Station IC Amitabh Das, Panchayat Samity Sabhapati Rupali Dey Sarkar, Sahakari Sabhapati Kavita Chhetri Saiba, and other local representatives.
