Rajganj, 25 May (Siliguri Chronicle) – All India Trinamool Congress leader and Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed was arrested in connection with a post-poll violence case related to the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.
According to sources, Bhorer Alo police arrested him based on allegations linked to incidents of post-poll violence that allegedly took place after the 2021 Assembly polls.
Police sources said a raid was carried out at his residence on Sunday night, after which he was taken into custody. The arrest was reportedly made as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple incidents of post-poll violence in the area.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri District Court on Monday. However, no official reaction from the Trinamool Congress has been received regarding the incident so far.
