Rajganj, 22 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Syed Waquar Raza has begun a series of inspections across police stations under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate to assess security and administrative preparedness. As part of this exercise, he visited Bhorer Alo Police Station on Sunday.
During the inspection, the Police Commissioner interacted with Officer-in-Charge Sudip Dutta and other personnel, and reviewed different departments within the station. After evaluating the arrangements, he issued necessary instructions to ensure smooth operations and effective security measures.
Speaking to reporters, Raza said that all guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India are being strictly followed. He stressed that the police’s primary responsibility is to ensure that voters can exercise their democratic rights without fear, adding that strict vigilance is being maintained to prevent any form of intimidation.
He also stated that special security arrangements have been put in place for the upcoming Ram Navami. Additional police forces will be deployed, and surveillance will be intensified in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
