Rajganj, 21 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – Swapna Barman, the Trinamool Congress candidate from the Rajganj Assembly constituency, is mourning the loss of her father, casting a shadow over the ongoing election campaign in the area.
Her father, Panchanan Barman, passed away early on Saturday morning at a private hospital in Siliguri. He had been unwell for several days and was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Over the past few days, Swapna Barman had been by her father’s side, attending to his needs. She had also offered prayers for his recovery. His death has left the gold medal-winning athlete deeply shaken.
The news has brought a wave of grief across the constituency and political circles, with leaders and supporters from various quarters expressing their condolences.
