Fulbari, January 06 (Siliguri Chronicle) – In a disturbing incident, the body of Mohammad Khadem, a resident of Fulbari, was found hanging from a tree near his home on Tuesday morning, triggering shock and grief in the Chunavati area.
According to sources, Khadem and five members of his family were reportedly excluded from the SIR draft list and had recently been summoned for a hearing. Khadem, who worked as a taxi driver, is said to have returned home visibly distressed after attending the hearing. He went missing on Monday night, and his body was discovered the next morning close to his residence.
Police from NJP Police Station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Following the incident, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Dabgram–Fulbari Block Trinamool Congress president Dilip Roy, and other local leaders visited the bereaved family. Mayor Deb expressed condolences, assured all possible assistance, and said the matter would be looked into seriously.
