Siliguri, 04 June (Siliguri Chronicle) – Newly appointed Minister of State Anandamay Barman received a grand welcome upon his return to Siliguri on Thursday after taking oath of office.
A large number of BJP workers and supporters gathered at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station to greet the minister as he arrived by train. Phansidewa MLA Durga Murmu was also present during the reception. People from various communities participated in the welcome programme.
The atmosphere at the station was festive, with drum beats and celebrations marking the occasion. Anandamay Barman was felicitated by party workers before proceeding to his residence in an open vehicle.
Speaking to the media at NJP station, Barman thanked party workers and supporters for the warm reception. He also expressed gratitude to the party leadership and the Chief Minister for entrusting him with the responsibility of Minister of State.
Commenting on the political situation in the state, the minister claimed that the Trinamool Congress would eventually lose its political relevance.
On the development of North Bengal, Barman said that years of neglect would come to an end and expressed confidence that the region would witness accelerated development in the coming days.
