Siliguri, March 19 (Siliguri Chronicle) – In a rare display of personal warmth amid political rivalry, TMC candidate Ranjan Sil Sharma visited the residence of BJP candidate Sikha Chatterjee in the Dabgram–Fulbari Assembly constituency on Thursday morning, carrying flowers and sweets.
Ranjan, who had earlier lived at Sikha Chatterjee’s home and began his political journey under her guidance, sought her blessings by touching her feet before heading out for his campaign. He described her as a motherly figure in his life.
Sikha Chatterjee, the sitting MLA and BJP candidate from the constituency, welcomed the gesture and exchanged greetings. Speaking on the occasion, she said he should work to protect the country and remarked that the electoral contest represents a battle between ‘dharma’ and ‘adharma’.
Ranjan, however, emphasized that personal relationships are separate from political rivalry, adding that they represent different political ideologies despite their close bond.
