Phansidewa, March 18 (Siliguri Chronicle) – Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Rina Toppo Ekka has intensified her election campaign in Phansidewa, reaching out to voters across the constituency.
On Wednesday, she visited Thanjhora Tea Garden in Kharibari, where she interacted with tea garden workers. Greeting them with folded hands, Ekka sought their support and listened to their concerns.
She was accompanied by senior party leaders, including the Darjeeling district TMC chairman, the INTTUC district president, and the Phansidewa Assembly coordinator.
During the visit, Ekka urged tea garden workers to cast their votes in favour of the Trinamool Congress.
In a notable development, around 150 supporters of the CPI(M) joined the TMC on the same day, boosting the party’s campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Ekka criticised the sitting BJP MLA, alleging a lack of development work in the area. She highlighted the state government’s welfare initiatives, claiming they have benefited households across the region.
Expressing confidence, Ekka said she is hopeful of winning the seat by a large margin and dedicating the victory to the Chief Minister.
