Trinamool hits the streets in Belakoba, protests BJP’s ‘suppression policy’ and SIR

Several hundred Trinamool workers marched from Shikarpur to Belakoba market, holding a rally and meeting against the BJP’s alleged suppression policy and the SIR project.

Rajganj, January 28 (Siliguri Chronicle) – A protest rally and public meeting were held by the Trinamool Congress in Belakoba on Wednesday, alleging the BJP government’s suppression policy and opposing the SIR project.

Organised by the Rajganj Block Trinamool Congress, the rally began at the party’s area office corner in Shikarpur, Belakoba, and marched through the locality before concluding at Shikarpur market. Several hundred Trinamool workers and supporters took part in the procession.

Following the rally, a protest meeting was held at the market. Addressing the gathering, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy criticised the BJP government, accusing it of pursuing anti-people policies and suppressing democratic voices.

District INTTUC President Tapan Dey and Rajganj Block Trinamool Congress President Arindam Banerjee also spoke at the meeting, echoing similar concerns.

Among those present were Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati Rupali Dey Sarkar, Rajganj Block Mahila Trinamool Congress Chairperson Sarbani Dhara, INTUC Block President Sheikh Umar Farooq, Archana Roy, Sattam Dutta, Nur Islam, and other Trinamool Congress leaders and party workers.
