Siliguri, January 27 (Siliguri Chronicle) – A review meeting was held at the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday to assess the progress of the Burdwan Road flyover and the proposed development work on Nivedita Road.
After the meeting, Mayor Gautam Deb said the flyover was originally scheduled to open on January 15, but the project was delayed due to pending railway-related work. He informed that painting work is currently being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD), while the remaining construction work will be completed soon.
The mayor added that once the flyover is ready, the area beneath it will be cleaned and parking facilities will be made operational. He also announced that development work on Nivedita Road will begin shortly, which is expected to help ease traffic congestion and improve infrastructure in the area.
