Bagdogra, 24 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – Despite steady rainfall, Sankar Malakar, the Trinamool Congress candidate, continued his election campaign at a tea garden in the area, carrying an umbrella as he reached out to workers.
According to reports, Malakar campaigned at Trihana Tea Garden in Bagdogra under the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency. During his visit, he interacted with tea garden workers and highlighted various development schemes implemented by the state government.
He was accompanied by INTTUC district president Nirjal Dey and district chairman Sanjay Tibrewal.
Speaking on the sidelines, Malakar claimed that the Trinamool Congress is ahead in the campaign race and asserted that the BJP would be wiped out in the upcoming elections. He also said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to address a rally in Naxalbari the following day, which is expected to further boost the party’s campaign momentum.
Expressing confidence, he stated that victory in the Matigara-Naxalbari seat is only a matter of time.
