Rajganj, 24 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – A workers’ meeting was held on Tuesday morning in support of Trinamool Congress candidate Swapna Barman ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, with senior leader Khageswar Roy leading efforts to strengthen the party organisation in the Rajganj constituency.
The meeting took place at the residence of the outgoing MLA and was attended by members of various block and regional committees, along with party workers and supporters. Discussions centred on organisational strategies and planning for the election campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Roy said the meeting was convened following instructions from Abhishek Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress national general secretary, who had directed him to engage with workers in support of the party’s candidate.
In addition to expressing support for Barman, party leaders also discussed preparations for the upcoming campaign rally of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Plans were drawn up to boost the presence of party workers and supporters and to intensify campaign activities around the event.
