Rajganj, March 18 (Siliguri Chronicle) – Political activity has picked up pace in Rajganj ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, particularly after four-time MLA Khageswar Roy was denied a party ticket, triggering widespread discussion in the area.
Amid the developments, leaders of the All India Trinamool Congress have expressed strong confidence about retaining the seat. Party leader and Jalpaiguri Sadar Assembly candidate Krishna Das said the party is set to win the Rajganj constituency by a comfortable margin. He also remarked that the denied aspirant had already lost at their own booth.
In a show of strength, a large bike rally was organised in support of Trinamool candidate Swapna Barman, drawing significant participation from party workers and supporters.
Before the rally began, participants gathered at Krishna Das’s residence. The rally then moved through different parts of Rajganj, showcasing the party’s organisational presence on the ground.
Supporters who took part in the rally expressed confidence that the Trinamool Congress would secure a decisive victory with a substantial margin in the upcoming elections.
