TMC party flags allegedly torn near Rathkhola ground in Siliguri

Siliguri, 20 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – Allegations have emerged that flags of the Trinamool Congress were torn down during the night near Rathkhola ground in Siliguri. The incident is reported to have taken place late on Thursday, drawing a sharp reaction from the party.

Local sources said several TMC flags had been put up in and around the Rathkhola ground area ahead of upcoming events. It is alleged that these flags were deliberately removed or damaged in a coordinated manner. Party leaders also claimed that saffron flags installed in the same locality ahead of Ram Navami were left untouched, while only TMC flags were targeted.

TMC leadership said they have collected CCTV footage from the area and will file a written complaint at the local police station seeking an investigation.

Meanwhile, Shankar Ghosh, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Siliguri, said that CCTV footage should be thoroughly examined to identify those responsible and ensure appropriate action is taken.
