Siliguri Woman Ran Drug Racket from Home, Caught by Police with Brown Sugar Seizure

Matigara police arrest woman in Siliguri for running brown sugar trade from home, seize 101 grams of contraband worth lakhs after surveillance operation.

Siliguri, 02 April (Siliguri Chronicle) – Matigara police have busted an illegal drug trade operating from a residential house and arrested a 41-year-old woman, identified as Firoza Begum of Vishwas Colony.

According to police sources, the action followed specific intelligence inputs. A team in plain clothes carried out a special operation and found that the accused had allegedly been running a brown sugar trade from her home, which had become a hub for drug-related activities.

After verifying the inputs, police kept the woman under surveillance for nearly 24 hours. She was eventually caught red-handed while allegedly selling brown sugar outside her residence.

During the operation, around 101 grams of brown sugar were recovered from her possession. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth several lakhs in the illegal market.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused was produced before a Siliguri court, and police have sought her remand for further investigation. A detailed probe is currently underway.
