Man Dies from Electrocution Near Electric Pole in Siliguri, Police Launch Investigation

Siliguri, 29 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – A man died after being electrocuted near an electric pole in the Boubazar area of Shanti Nagar, Siliguri, late on Saturday night. The incident is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

According to local sources, residents rushed out of their homes after hearing a loud sound. On stepping outside, they found the man lying beside an electric pole on the roadside.

Police from the Ashighar Outpost were immediately informed and reached the spot shortly after. The body was recovered and sent for further procedures.

Preliminary findings indicate that a short circuit may have led to the incident. A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause.
