Cold Wave Bites Hard in Siliguri, Residents Shiver as Winter Tightens Its Grip

Siliguri, December 30 (Siliguri Chronicle) – Winter has tightened its grip on Siliguri and other parts of North Bengal, with temperatures dropping sharply over the past few days. On Tuesday, the cold intensified further, forcing residents to brave biting conditions and bringing daily life to a shivering halt in many areas.

The sun remained hidden since morning, disrupting normal daily activities. As the cold persisted, many residents gathered around fires across the city to keep warm, while a few others were seen enjoying the wintry conditions.

Besides local residents, tourists visiting various destinations across North Bengal are also thronging Siliguri and getting a first-hand experience of the region’s winter chill.
