Siliguri, 24 March (Siliguri Chronicle) – BJP candidate from Siliguri, Shankar Ghosh, has announced an indefinite suspension of his election campaign and public outreach activities following the suspicious death of a minor girl in the city.

Ghosh, who had earlier demanded immediate action and arrest of those responsible, had set a deadline for authorities to respond. With no significant progress reported within the stipulated timeframe, he intensified his protest.

On Tuesday, he staged a dharna at the base of the Ambedkar Statue, where he stated that he would not participate in any political programmes until the accused is arrested and justice is ensured.
