Siliguri, December 29 (Siliguri Chronicle) – Residents of the Dabgram-Fulbari constituency are struggling with persistent civic problems, as poor road conditions and an inadequate water supply continue to affect daily life. Many areas remain neglected, making it difficult for people to travel safely and access clean water.
Locals say the lack of basic services has caused ongoing hardship, highlighting the urgent need for attention and effective action from the authorities.
BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee has repeatedly expressed concern that development work in the area has come to a standstill due to a lack of cooperation from the state government. Residents continue to suffer from broken roads, water shortages, and poor street lighting.
However, the most serious issue remains the railway underpass near Indian Oil Junction, where large potholes collect water and create dangerous conditions, resulting in frequent accidents almost every day.
Local residents have also accused the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), which is responsible for maintenance, of failing to take action. They said development work was underway in the area before 2021, but conditions have deteriorated sharply since then, adding to public frustration.
